Chuckit! Review December 26, 2008 L. Secondini (Tewksbury, MA USA) These ultra balls are great for dogs. They keep a lot longer than tennis balls do. They keep their bounce and don't get all chewed up and yucky.
Very durable. December 18, 2008 T. V. Wright (Stallings, NC) My dog still likes tennis balls in the chuck it thrower, but loved to sit and chew this ball. Has become my Grandpuppies favorite ball also. So far no damage to the balls and very happy dogs.
Super Balls! December 16, 2008 M. Nordbusch (Prineville, OR) These are really great balls. If you are looking for a ball that will stand up to the toughest chewers this is it. The price is a little high but as long as you don't loose them they are well worth it and will last forever.
Field tested by three Lab mixes. December 7, 2008 J. Branson (Seahurst, WA United States) My youngest dog lives to fetch. She fetches most of the time she is awake, and then she dreams about fetching. The other two also like to fetch occasionally, and they all like to ruminate while chewing on a ball. We used to buy tennis balls, until I read about the dangers to their teeth due to abrasion caused by sand caught in the fuzz. Tennis balls essentially sandpaper your dog's teeth over time. These balls are tough. We have purchased a dozen over the last six months (because they go missing under the couch or in the bushes) and only one has developed a significant hole from chewing. The rest have remained as good as new until they were lost. True, they can develop air leaks, but this seems to make them more attractive to the dogs. Tessie likes to find one with a leak and slowly squeeze it in her mouth, making small squeaks and hisses. This is Zen meditation for her. They float, so they are great for playing fetch at the lake, allowing my Lab mixes to swim around after the ball. They are bright orange, helping me find them in the bushes when they have gone out of reach of the dogs. The dogs cannot see the orange ball if it is not moving, even if it is sitting in the grass right in front of them, so they find the ball by the smell. I can spot the ball from a hundred yards away, and this has saved us from losing the ball many times. One downside to these balls: like tennis balls, they do present a choking hazard. Depending on the size of your dog, a ball this size could get lodged in the throat. This happens from time to time with tennis balls, and it could just as easily happen with these balls. In all the years of chewing on tennis balls or rubber balls, it has never happened to my dogs, but that doesn't mean it couldn't. I try to only let the dogs play with the balls while I'm around to observe them. I would like to see a future version of this ball made like a LifeSaver candy, with a hole through the middle, just in case. It hasn't been a problem for my dogs, based on their style of chewing and playing, but be sure to watch your dog closely when you play with this ball. With the proper precautions, this ball is the ultimate toy, providing hours of entertainment for you and your dog.
Chuck-it balls November 25, 2008 Bruce Mogardo Excellent product. The dogs love them and will chase them all day until they drop. Well priced and very durable.
